There are several traps and pitfalls that the devil will use to cause the man of God to stumble and fall. This page will be an extended, ongoing place where a young preacher (or the preacher, young at heart) will find useful advice to save them from some of the several headaches and heartaches possible to experience in the ministry. Several of the lessons in this series are gleanings from lessons that I taught to my son who is beginning his first steps in the ministry. Much of what follows was from lessons personally learned in the ministry and from counsel directly from the Word of God. It is my prayer for you who read this that the Word of the Lord may be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path.
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12
As we begin this study I will say to you what Paul said to the Corinthian church, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.”
